Caloundra State High School Begins
The high school was built in 1963 at the same location as it is currently standing. The school started with only years 9 and 10 adding up to 57 students. By the next year the school officially opened and dramatic increase in size with 207 students. In 1964 the first year 8 students were introduced into the school expanding gradually until 1967 when the first senior class graduated.

Up until 1967, the school shared a Headmaster with the primary school. The first offical Headmaster at Caloundra High was Mr Mevyn Miles. The school has continued to grow, with the original block now housing the senior school administration team.
