Teaching and learning

Our core business is the teaching and learning of our students, who are our future.  Our aim is to provide the optimum learning environment to enable students to achieve all they can be.  This is the goal of the Teaching and Learning Department by developing teacher capacity and providing a range of opportunities for students to challenge themselves.

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
Benjamin Franklin

Our Improvement by Design agenda drives our deliberate practice to achieve these outcomes, using the tools of Marzano’s Art and Science of Teaching to build teacher capacity and capability.  Also under the banner of Teaching and Learning at Caloundra High are the following areas: Learning Support, Indigenous Education, and whole school Literacy and Numeracy strategies.
