The Caloundra State High School Volleyball Excellence Program was founded in 1985, with current enrolments now exceeding 100 students from years 7 to 10. The program continues to focus on the development and longevity of volleyball within our students. Our program believes in the journey of development of the whole person and we understand the health benefits, the social and emotional development participating in sport provides. We acknowledge that not every student will make it to the elite level in volleyball, but hope that students will experience personal growth and stay involved within the sport.
On the court, the volleyball program has a strong focus on volleyball essential skills, rules, rotations and teamwork. Theoretical aspects educate students about additional roles such as coaching, refereeing and games analysis. Partnering with Volleyball Queensland, Caloundra State High School continues to strive for success on court, playing in State (QLD School's Volleyball Cup) and National level (Australian Schools' Volleyball Cup) events, providing students with the opportunity and challenge of playing volleyball at the highest level.
