Caloundra is home to some of the greatest beaches on Earth and with our Surfing Program we are able to utilise these natural facilities to develop students’ abilities in surfing and knowledge of the surf environment. With Kings, Moffat and Dicky Beach all in close proximity and with the help of our local partners Silky Surf, the program provides experienced or novice surfers with the opportunity to hone their skills.
Students from Years 7-12 can participate in this this subject and not only fall in love with the surf but understand it. Students will build their knowledge of beach environments from global warming to exploring marine life and landscapes, along with practical aspects such as board making and repair and surf survival skills. The program includes the opportunity to attain a Surf Bronze Medallion during the senior years of schooling.
