Health and Physical Education

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​At Caloundra SHS we provide our students with a well-balanced curriculum of Practical and Theoretical content areas. Our subjects offer your child the unique ability to appreciate the value of being physically healthy while understanding the multi-level facets that can impact upon each individual. The challenging yet supportive learning environment promotes high quality personal development to maximize each student's abilities to become prosperous and engaging young citizens in our local community. 

In Years 7-10, students study Health and Physical Education as per the Australian Curriculum. Health and Physical Education provides students with an exciting chance to explore a variety of theoretical and practical elements that directly affects their health and wellbeing.

Completion of the 6 Content Descriptors not only develops each students overall Health, but it provides a solid base in order to explore the multiple options available to them in Year 11 and 12 in Health and Physical Education.

The dynamic senior course available for students to study in Health and Physical Education provides the opportunity to focus and excel in one or more dimensions of this industry. Our highly skilled team provides learning opportunities in two OP authority subjects in Senior Physical Education and Senior Health. Certificate pathways allow for students to explore the industry aspects of Health and Physical Education through a Certificate III in Fitness, Certificate II in Sport and Recreation, and Certificate II in Sport Coaching.
