At Caloundra State High School we offer our International Students a wealth of opportunities. Our students will experience life as a student on the Sunshine Coast through a unique program that they will remember for a lifetime.

One of the most exciting aspects of becoming an international student at Caloundra State High School is the surfing development program. Each fortnight, our international students travel to Happy Valley beach for a surfing lesson with two of our experienced surfing teachers.

Another draw-card is our Coast to Country Aussie Experience which boasts travel opportunities each term to destinations such as Australia Zoo, Lady Elliot Island, Tangalooma Island and Fraser Island with our International Coordinator and Glen from Oceanic Tours. One trip we do that is unique to Caloundra State High is the Agricultural Immersion Trip whereby students travel to Dalby State High School to experience a school in outback Queensland. Not to mention the numerous day trips offered to Australia Zoo, Noosa, Brisbane and other local attractions.

Our school is also proud of our international team who are experienced at supporting international students. We also have an extensive support team who are knowledgeable about the complexities associated with ISP students. Oh, and our teachers are some of the best in Australia!

The curriculum at Caloundra State High School includes the very popular Marine Students, Excellence programs offered in multiple sports and dance, volunteering program (support with languages, mentoring younger students, Work Experience), online learning, University partnerships offering students pathway options after completion of their studies and weekly additional ESL lessons and tutor support for our international students. We also offer VET Registered Training Organisation, offering students the ability to obtain a qualification during their stay with us.

Our dedicated international room for our international students with microwave, fridge, sink, pigeon holes, tea, coffee, milk, snacks etc is an awesome place to hang out and meet people from all over the world.

Also, Caloundra State High School is located next door to an Aquatic Swimming Centre, Soccer and Rugby League Club and within minutes to Tennis, Basketball, Netball, Dance and Football sporting clubs which allows students to partake in extra-curricular activities after school if they wish.

Caloundra State High School is located in the suburb of Caloundra. It boasts the title of being the only Queensland state school that has a view of the ocean. Caloundra is one of the Sunshine Coast's most popular tourist destination. The beautiful beaches are some of the best in the world. The main area of Caloundra offers many retail shops, restaurants, cafes, bowling alley, movie theatre and sporting clubs, roller dome and an aquatic centre. Caloundra's population is predominantly young families and retirees. Caloundra State High School is within walking distance to the local shopping centre. The area is very safe and easy to access for our International Students.

Getting to and from school is very easy. There are bus stops right out the front of the school. Caloundra is very easy to ride around and majority of our homestay families live very close to either the school, or a bus stop. The public transport in general on the Sunshine Coast is very accessible making it easy for our International students to travel on their weekends and see what the beautiful Sunshine Coast has to offer.

The beautiful Pumicestone Passage travels all the way to Bribie Island from Bulcock Beach and is a very popular destination for boating, kite surfers and paddle boarders. Also, if students are interested in surfing, Dicky's, Shelley and Kings Beach are the best surf beaches on the Sunshine Coast. The Coast to Country Aussie Experience Program will have students out surfing within the first 3 weeks of their arrival!
