Wednesday Learning Hub for Year 11 & 12
students.
For Year 11 & 12, Caloundra High students have a flexible timetable on Wednesdays.
Wednesday is not a 'day-off'. Wednesday is a gazetted school day and students can expect to attend for examinations, curriculum-based excursions and workshops, mandatory vocational work placement and academic intervention for students at risk. Students will be notified at least one week in advance when attendance on Wednesday is required.
To promote good study habits and a culture of learning, students are encouraged to access tutorials on Wednesdays. Students are required to sign on for these tutorials each week. The tutorial schedule will be published in the weekly newsletter and on the school website. Tutorials are offered for Mathematics & Sciences and supervised study for English and Humanities.
Attendance at scheduled exams on Wednesday takes priority over all other commitments, including TAFE, SCTTTC, apprenticeships and traineeships. Students are required to make arrangements with their employer or trainer well in advance to notify them of their absence so that they can attend the scheduled assessment. Failure to attend will result in the student becoming ineligible for an ATAR and/or risk of cancellation of enrolment.
A link to the Learning Hub schedule is available on the right of this screen.
Students have access to Education Perfect, as an interactive resource to support their content knowledge, study skills and proficiency in their chosen subjects. Senior students are welcome to attend C02 all day on Wednesday, as a dedicated space for them to focus on homework or assignments.
