Caloundra SHS works with a number of Tertiary Education providers to provide pathways for our students beyond high school. See below for more information or speak with our Guidance Officers.

Headstart

Headstart challenges motivated Year 10 - 12 students with university-level learning, giving you the opportunity to advance your study skills and gain credit towards a UniSC degree. You can pursue a subject of interest, experience life as a uni student and enhance your academic skills as you blend high school learning with university study.

You can complete up to four first-year UniSC subjects (one per semester) during Years 10 (available in Semester 2 only) to Year 12.

Start QUT

START QUT gives you the best chance of finding a course you'll enjoy by trying out university subjects while you're in Year 11 and 12.

You can trial potential study areas, experience the university lifestyle and learn about the differences between high school and university. You’ll be part of the student community and attend lectures, tutorials or workshops with other QUT students.

Get the real QUT experience and set yourself up for future success.

UQ Enhanced Studies Programs

The Enhanced Studies Program provides students with an opportunity to extend their knowledge and skills by completing one university subject during Year 12.

CQU Start Uni Now

Experience university while you're still in school with our Start Uni Now (SUN) high school program. You can complete units from your chosen degree giving you a head start on your studies.

Study university while you're in school: If you're completing Year 10 or studying in Years 11 and 12, SUN gives you the opportunity to combine your senior school study with university-level study. Choose from a range of units from our bachelor degrees, gain an authentic insight into university life, and start university early.

Gain credit toward a future degree: You could be eligible for direct entry into your chosen course and credit towards your degree after completing your SUN units. This saves you some of the stress of relying heavily on your ATAR score.

To be eligible for credit towards the degree you're interested in studying, the CQU SUN unit(s) that you complete must sit within that degree.
