Guidance Officers provide a confidential service for personal counselling, career guidance and information for students. 
Guidance
Assist  students  to  identify/clarify personal,  educational and career goals.
Assist  students  in  decision-making  processes such as subject  selection,  subject changes and course selection.
Personal Counselling
Empower clients to resolve personal issues that prevent them from achieving their potential.
Counselling issues may include:
Emotional problems;
 
family conflict; 
 
stress management; 
 
self-concept/self-esteem; 
 
depression and anxiety; 
 
grief; medical/health problems; 
 
discrimination/harassment/bullying; 
 
conflict resolution and mediation; 
 
behaviour problems/anger management; 
 
improving communication; 
 
abuse/trauma.
Provision of Information
A Careers Resources and Research Room is established for use by students, staff and parents. This includes access to tertiary courses, job information and internet sites.
Information for students and parents on tertiary applications, senior subject selection, scholarships, etc. 
Information on community agencies. 
Programs
Behaviour support, time management and study skills; personal development; transition; social skilling; career development/education.
Education
Workshops  on stress/anxiety  management, study skills, time management and personal development skills.
