Overview
Our Music Extension program provides students in Years 7-10 with an opportunity to develop their musical talents and pursue their love of music in a supportive and challenging environment. This is a unique, by audition only subject, designed to deepen students’ knowledge and understanding of music by extending their music ability in the areas of performance, composition and analysis of music. We
promote music excellence, provide extension and enrichment opportunities, encourage leadership, and develop creative and critical thinking skills.
Opportunities
The Music Extension program provides students with a variety of opportunities to perform both within the school and in the broader community. Throughout their study, students will have the opportunity to work with industry professionals, participate in competitions, external music examinations and workshops, and experience professional music performances. These experiences help students to gain experience, build their confidence and ability, and network with other musicians.

Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Programs
Participation in our school ensembles and groups underpin the Music Extension program. These programs not only provide students with further performance experience and with opportunities to develop technique, but they also serve as a musical community for students from Year 7-12. We highly recommend that all students be involved in either the Instrumental Music Program and/or the Extra-Curricular Program.
How to Apply
Students must complete a Music Extension application and be successful at an audition session to be eligible for this program. To be considered for a position in our Music Extension Signature Program, students must also have behaviour, effort and attendance standards of excellent and/or very good.
